I have a silver ice bucket beautiful that I show at my house. I would like a floral arrangement made for him. (Not sure what I want.) All ideas are welcome.

How can you tell when a timing belt has gone in a car?
I think the timing belt on my car went out. A mechanic shade tree told me that was the problem, but I'm not sure. I have a 1998 model Chevy Malibu.
If the timing belt has slipped (jumped a tooth), lose power and be hard to start, if you can even start. If the belt is fully converted (broken), the engine not even run. the timing belt connects to the crank shaft and maintains thecam opening and closing valves at the appropriate time in relation to the pistons. Once it breaks, May Sping the starter, but the valves are opening and closing. At worst, if a door is wide and has no hydraulic lifts, you may be inclined of value and broken piston. I've never seen this happen, but my cars were Chevys hydraulic elevator. As for his replacement. The hardest part is simply for him. With good detection tool, usually will take a couple of hours to replace. A Ford Pinto with the lids already disappeared only took 10 minutes to replace. A Honda with all the covers took 4 hours. Additional information, timing belts are sometimes put in place to drive water pumps and other accessories. Bottom line, if the belt broke, do not move. If you skipped a tooth, and you can always move the power and fuel economy stench. Mark H
